Happy Valley Kitchen

The kitchen in this 70s home suffered from a terrible layout, dark cabinets and overhead cabinets that cut off the cook from the rest of the space. With a lot of family dinners, they wanted a space that could accommodate their extended family and that would be open to the family room and the large deck.

Some of the owners’ desires were: cherry cabinets that echo the woodwork in the living room, a skylight for natural light, a place to keep her step stool in easy reach, a microwave drawer, good organization of cookware and trays, spices close to the range, a lighted display cabinet and some special Celtic knot tiles in the backsplash.
